BIO
Brazilian-born LUIZA PAES studied music since she was six and
dancing tango since 1997. She was, for ten years, the partner of
Norberto “Pulpo” Esbrez since 1998, traveling the world teaching and
performing. Luiza teaches all levels of technique emphasizing the
leader and follower's roles, improvisation and the ability of
adapting, which is what a tango dancer must develop in order to
follow different styles.
NICK JONES has been teaching at Festivals throughout the US,
Australia and Buenos Aires for the past five years, including
Pulpo’s Tango Week. He plays the bandoneon and leads a tango quintet
in Denver. His dancing (as is Luiza’s) is effortless, elegant,
sophisticated and musical. Being centered on on axis is central to
his teaching. Nick is enthusiastic and has the ability to convey
complex ideas and to pinpoint the student’s areas needing
improvement. |

BIO
LUIZA PAES studied music since she was six, for many years working
in musical education and vocal technique. As a new form of musical
expression, Luiza studied Argentine Tango with Norberto "Pulpo"
Esbrez in Sao Paulo. Starting as a class assistant in his Sao Paulo
studio, she later became his partner.
As “Pulpo & Luiza” they traveled to the United States, Europe and
Asia to perform and teach various tango workshops. In March of 2000, Luiza
taught with Norberto at the II CITA (International Congress of
Argentine Tango) in Buenos Aires, and her solo class
“Musical Interpretation” was met with great success. Since 2005 Luiza has organized “Pulpo’s Tango Week,” a festival in Buenos Aires
-- a friendly gathering of Tango dancers from all over the world.
Luiza teaches all levels of technique, emphasizing the leader and
follower's roles, improvisation and the ability to adapt, which is
